I suggest you ...

Build an underground parking ramp that is free for all.

Build the parking ramp and remove the resident only parking. If a resident wants reserved parking they can leave a vehicle in the space. The current system is crazy and denies free access to the university. The proposed changes will only make things worse. Just look at the Enzi building where the street was closed for years only to restrict traffic flow when it was opened. College students should know how to look both ways when crossing the street I would hope. The underground tunnels leading from the new parking ramp to the main campus could eliminate all pedestrian traffic while keeping the walkways clear from the elements. Lets see how many excuses there are for not doing something that benefits all of us and not just the falculty.
